A LETTER FROM SCOTT MORIE - DIRECTOR OF MISSIONSAbout two years ago, after my sixth or seventh year of service as the Director of Missions in Cimarron Association, I came up with a ten-year plan. Then, about a year ago, I was explaining it to one of my daughters.
Following my wonderful presentation, she looked at me and plainly stated, "Dad, you have enough money...you ought to retire, move to Tulsa and spend more time with your kids and grandkids." God used her suggestion to convict me. Well, so much for my great plans and ideas! So, after a year of prayer, evaluation, and visiting with my wife Sharon, the Lord gave me a better plan.Out of our six adult children, Sharon and I have three kids, along with their spouses and seven of our grandkids, who all live within twenty minutes of each other in the Tulsa area. So we have decided to move to that same area, and our new priority will be to invest in their lives.For that reason, I am submitting my resignation as DOM. Because I want to finish strong and also prepare our association well for our next leader, my last day of ministry for the CBA will be August 31.I am certainly not leaving because of any difficulty in Cimarron or with any pastor. I love my job, our churches, and all the people I get to work with. Several of the pastors and church leaders have become my good friends. More than eight years ago I began with an excitement and passion that has only increased and grown through the years and you have taught me much. I will always be grateful for that.So, yes, this is a sad time for me, but I am also excited about the future! I have tried to explain to a few people that although I am resigning, I am NOT retiring. God has blessed me with good health, a deep passion for helping churches and pastors, adequate finances, and a lot of energy to serve. So, I'm not "retiring", but I am "relocating" to the Tulsa area and to another ministry, although I'm not sure what that is yet. As Sharon and I move just a few miles east of the great association, we will always have fond memories of serving the Lord with our Cimarron churches and pastors.

DOM SEARCH TEAM TO BE ELECTED NEXT MONTHThe Cimarron Executive Board Meeting is Monday, August 11 at Immanuel Baptist in Perkins. It is at this gathering that we will receive nominations for the DOM Search Team. Then, the Executive Board will elect the five search team members and two alternates. You can submit nominations before the meeting or at the meeting. You should confirm if that individual is willing to serve before you nominate them.

Ministries & Missions
"Love Worth Sharing" is an associational missions effort to encourage CBA churches to focus on one community for two months. We have planned several missions/service projects from minor repairs, painting, and brush removal, to prayer walking, home visits, and help with a block party.
Pastors or Mission Leaders can call the Director of Missions if they are interested in serving or bringing a group to serve.
The vision is to share the love of Jesus Christ in deed and word with the people of the town we are serving.

BABY BOOT CAMP
Baby Boot Camp is a great outreach of our association. Each mom is equipped with supplies and knowledge to care for herself and her family and the most important thing, the GOSPEL! We covet your prayers and appreciate any and every donation. If anyone in your church is interested in volunteering, we always welcome more help! It's hard to fully understand Baby Boot Camp until you see it in action, we would love for you to even come and observe.
This ministry is for FIRST- time moms that are at least 13 weeks gestation or eight weeks postpartum. Each mom is served brunch, lunch and showered with free baby gear! For more information please contact the office at 918-225-2300.
Needs for Baby Boot Camp: PRAYERS, bottles, formula dispensers, sleepers sizes newborn & 3-6 months (either gender), hooded towels, and burp cloths. Door prizes - Baby Bath, Car Seat, Strollers, Case of Diapers or Wipes, Bouncers/Saucers, High Chairs, Pack & Play, Baby Monitors, and Humidifiers.

Scott has served as a youth minister, NAMB church planter, pastor, and capital campaign consultant. He has a business degree from Oklahoma State University, an M.Div from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, and a DMin from Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City.Scott and his wife Sharon have been married for more than forty years and have six children and twelve grandchildren. Sharon is an Elementary Education graduate of Oklahoma State University and taught school for over twenty years.
